Some interesting September statistics: It’s the second wettest September since records have been kept. And the weekends have been especially unkind to the area. The bulk of rainfall will happen Friday through Monday.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Dave Curren says Saturday will dry out from the soaking rain with sunshine expected in the afternoon.
TONIGHT: The weather slowly starts to improve. The bulk of rain stays offshore. However, there will be a few renegade showers around lasting through Saturday morning.
SATURDAY: Early clouds and possible lingering showers give way to sunshine. Highs are still below average in the mid 60s. If you live in a flood-prone area along one of New Jersey’s riverbanks, then keep an eye on water levels. Minor flooding is expected through Sunday.
SUNDAY: The start of October. Sunny and 80.
