Ford May Leave V8 Supercars Championship If Chevy Keeps Winning
The issue is Ford asked for parity changes outside of the normal party review. A normal review is triggered after lap times are analyzed over the course of five consecutive races or five of eight championship races. This review has already been triggered earlier this season, but it appears there hasn’t been enough evidence to trigger one ahead of this race, much to Ford’s displeasure.
Ford attempted to petition the organizers to implement the aero changes without an official review, but the only way that was going to happen was if it was able to get support from the Chevrolet teams. Obviously, those teams weren’t too keen on the idea, thus, the bid was rejected.
Due to this, Drive has apparently been told by senior Ford Australia sources that “the company is seriously considering its options beyond 2024.”
