The Best Shakeouts, Pop-Ups and Parties Around the 2023 New York Marathon

50,000 runners, professionals, celebrities, and weekend warriors alike will toe the starting line at the 52nd running of the New York City Marathon this Sunday, November 5, touching all five of the Big Apple’s boroughs before finishing their triumphant 26.2 mile tour in Midtown Manhattan. The city comes alive for the marathon, and that liveliness isn’t relegated strictly to race day either. Both before and after the race, brands and running clubs alike lay out a smorgasbord of programming for runners and fans to carb load on before race day, from shakeout runs to keep racers’ aerobic systems primed to pop-ups with new gear and giveaways from brands both large and small, events and panels to immerse yourself in marathon culture, and, of course, afterparties for runners to celebrate all their hard work.
