How To Write Julian Date For Today

Find out if it’s a match for Halima and Julian on this week’s Blind Date: ‘I’m psychic and I’d already dreamed he would wear red’

HALIMA, 29

Single, no children.

Model.

Dating Past?

I’ve never been in a long-term relationship partly because of the above. Some men just want an attractive woman on their arm, and that’s not what I want in a relationship.

I was with someone on-and-off for around seven months, but it was just casual.

Halima, a 29-year-old model, is looking to meet someone who likes her for who she is, not what she looks like

Pre-Date Nerves?

Yes, I was a bundle of nerves on the train down to London.

First Impressions?

My first thought was: ‘I’ve seen you before.’ I’m psychic — it’s a gift passed down through my mother’s side of the family — and I’d already dreamed my date would be wearing a red jacket. He was!

Although I don’t have a physical ‘type’, I thought Julian was very good-looking, with dark hair and a nice smile.

Easy To Talk To?

He was charming and friendly, if a little shy. I found myself asking most of the questions, but that was quite refreshing. Julian listened to what I had to say, and I was interested in his stories, too.

He’s well travelled and was telling me about visits to Spain, Italy and Greece — places I’ve always wanted to go.

He was interested in my family’s psychic abilities, particularly the story about my grandmother predicting her own death just weeks before she died in her sleep.

Embarrassing Moments?

I was ages in the loo because the zip on my trousers got stuck. I think Julian thought I might have done a runner!

While Halima doesn’t have a ‘physical type’, she thought Julian was very good-looking, with dark hair and a nice smile

Did sparks fly?

For my part, yes. I think he felt the same, but I’m not sure. I am good at sensing people’s energy — although women are often easier to read than men — but Julian had a positive vibe around him.

We wanted to continue talking so had a wander around the shops after our meal. I was touched that he saw me into a taxi before we said goodbye. We had another hug, but that was it.

See him again?

I was too shy to ask for Julian’s number or his social media handles, but yes, I’d like to see him again.

What do you think he thought of you?

I like to think he thought I was interesting and kind.

Would your family like him?

I think so. I’m only close to my sister and auntie, but they’d like him.

BLIND DATE VITAL STATISTICS

HALIMA

Single, no children.

CURRENT ROLE

Model.

WOULD LIKE TO MEET

Someone who likes me for who I am, not what I look like. Men tend to judge me on looks and think I’m easy. I’m not.

JULIAN

Single, no children.

CURRENT ROLE

Actor.

WOULD LIKE TO MEET

A petite brunette (although personality is key), who is open and doesn’t take themselves too seriously.

JULIAN, 24

Single, no children.

Actor.

Dating Past?

I was in a four-year-relationship that started at university. We moved in together, but then I got an acting job on a cruise liner and the strain of a long-distance relationship made us grow apart. My ex had her own life and career, while I wanted to travel.

Pre-Date Nerves?

Yes, this is a completely new experience for me.

Julian, a 24-year-old actor, would like to meet a petite brunette, who is open and doesn’t take themselves too seriously

First Impressions?

She was dressed well in a velvety top and trousers, with lovely hair and make-up. Although I didn’t fancy her straight away, she looked like a nice person who I’d get on with.

Easy To Talk To?

We broke the ice by saying how weird our blind date experience was.

Because we are both in the same kind of industry — modelling and acting — we talked about work and our hopes for the long run.

My goal is to see as much of the world as possible, with a career where I don’t dread work each day.

I’d like to meet a petite brunette, but personality is key

Halima also wants to travel, but I got the impression that while I’m happy to rough it in hostels and really experience the culture of a country, she’d be more comfortable in four- and five-star hotels.

She said staying in a hostel would be her worst nightmare.

Beyond work and travel, we didn’t find much common ground.

I’m close to my family but she’s not close to hers, so the conversation was awkward at times. All in all, we had a good time, though.

Embarrassing Moments?

The restaurant forgot about us at one point, so Halima had to get up and ask for our food.

Julian thought Halima was dressed well in a velvety top and trousers, with lovely hair and make-up. While he didn’t fancy Halima straight away, Julian thought they would get along

Did sparks fly?

I don’t think there was chemistry, but she’s the sort of person I can see as a friend, someone to go for a coffee and chat with.

See her again?

I don’t think so. After the date, she asked if I wanted to go for a walk and I was happy to wander around the shops. But when we said goodbye, I thought that was probably it.

What do you think she thought of you?

I hope she thought I was nice, that I came across as down-to-earth and caring.

Would your family like her?

Yes. She’s a nice person and the fact she’s so confident is something I like about her.

JULIAN’S VERDICT: 5/10
