Maryland State Fair Turns With Old Traditions and New Ideas

Big Red Luncheon, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to noon. Sean Callahan will speak at noon. The cost of $25 covers your meal, one non-alcoholic drink and the speaker.

Fremont Eagles Club open, 3 p.m. to midnight, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. The club may stay open later or close early depending on business. The kitchen will be open from 5:30-7 p.m. The menu will include hamburgers, cheeseburgers, tacos and soup. Everyone is welcome.

Fontanelle Fall Fest, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Camp Fontanelle, 9677 County Road 3, Fontanelle. The corn maze will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a corn hole tournament from noon to 3 p.m. The festival also will include the petting barn, pumpkins and the zip line. The concession stand will be open. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for kids under 12, and free for kids under 3. Admission covers the entrance to the corn maze and craft and vendor fair.
